There is surprisingly enough to keep me occupied for the three day weekend. Things are looking up.

What’s the best advice you've ever received but didn't take?

My biggest current pet peeve is that external clients, a year into the pandemic, haven't changed their signature blocks on correspondence.  When I call someone to discuss an issue, I'm still calling the main operator (which I've always hated) and many clients don't have receptionists or operators, anymore. Basically,

Week Two begins with a series of farming puns, leading to a series of “farm related events.” The teams compete to shuck corn (won by blue), bobbing for citrus and squeezing (won by blue, handily), digging for salad ingredients (putting red on the board), cracking and

Atmospherically, this was a miss for me. The introduction of the Uninvited stressed me out (I have a small human who would have been like that little girl), but the apparent rules the Uninvited follows seem much less sympathetic.

Now that my wife has given me her HBO max login, I’ve finished a rewatch of Lucy, Duaghter of the Devil. I apparently only really remember the same four episodes from the early 2000s, when I was just hoping adult swim would air things the way I wanted. It still makes me laugh, so that’s nice.

Because our media doesn’t teach that their stories are anything but intertwined with and defined by the children of the heterosexual pair bond. Parents are expected to provide and protect kids, and the only way kids are shown they can have media or do anything different is in movies and shows that make the kids

My favorite conceit: the ease with which everyone can chant spells simultaneously and without practice.

I was only mildly interested in swearing, but I really like Baron Vaughn and Open Mike Eagle. Dammit, Netflix.

My oldest is on a minecraft phase, so I’ve seen a bunch of thd Netflix interactive mindcrafy story. Decent voice cast, but a miserable script and (shocker) I hate the graphics.

I liked the last Alice Wetterlund staring aliens-are-amung-us show well enough. I hope residnet alien is actually charming and fun, and doesn't go the way some other SyFy shows I wanted to love went.

Watched (all of?) Avenue 5 on Thursday because of the AV Club’s list of favorite scenes in TV this year. It was...definitely a show. I chuckled, but I generally hate shows where people are just mean to each other for no clean reason.

I have gotten to do it, multiple times, with other engineers.  It's less satisfying than it should be, because these are people who learned the scientific method in high school and college and are still relying on Trump's tweets for their "facts."

I very much enjoyed seeing so many of my right wing friends repeat each of those arguments verbatim and simultaneously call anyone who listened to scientists sheep for not "doing their own research."

I miss skating so badly right now.

I saw the Mandalorian finale, because I couldn’t look at social media without seeing “its only been three hours, why is everyone spoiling the show?” posts all over. I liked it, but I didn’t get as emotionally invested as a bunch of my friends, apparently. I might be broken?

Hilda was mentioned in the TV premiering in December article, I thought? I still need to watch season 2.

Are we just going to pretend Vinnie Chase didn't prime the pump for America to love Aquaman back in 2000whatever?

Losing Haven will sting a bit. I'm liking it but also no going to increase my binge rate enough to get to the end before it leaves the service.
