Zombies Easter Egg is a ton of fun. Since launch I’ve continually made progress, and I know all the steps now to get to the boss fight at the end. The hard part is actually making it there.

It’s art and assets from a title that came out 22 years ago. The last time the title was re-released was on the 3DS, and is no longer sold either. You can’t get it on the virtual console. So one could argue that using the assets in a fan made game, that is not being sold, is not affecting the value of the copyright or…

Not for nothing, but most programmers are passionate about their craft, and know what they are getting into. It’s not some big hidden secret, and it’s not limited to that industry.
