As much as we all would have liked Medicare for all, it would have a 0.0001% chance of passing. Obama didn’t sell anyone out, he compromised and we got a half-assed health care reform. Without him compromising health care would be unchanged.

It might not make sense to you, but the people who wrote the Constitution came here to get away from an overly controlling monarchy.

That’s not what was probably being considered when the Constitution was written. America was formed, at least partially, due to the fear of an all powerful head of state. The 2nd likely contemplated the people having the means to rebel against the government in the event of a tyrannical government/leader.
