Marshals don’t check legality of the car, that is up to the organisers and fellow competitors, a marshal just checks that the car appears to be basically right and that it’s safe to race.

Man enters car in race that doesn’t meet the rules, gets upset when protest confims it doesn’t meet the rules, shocker!
They’re there in black and white, for all to see.

Now, the guy protesting is a sore loser, but everyone has to run to the same regulations. Otherwise you get people entering a series that has limits

D) Join in.

That’s the entire point, each piece has much less energy and a lot of the energy will have gone into deforming and breaking the mountings, large parts like the wishbones and wheels and tyres are then retained by the wheel tethers.

An F1 impact would probably be better - the cars are so much lighter and a lot of parts like the wheels, suspension, etc, will just break away absorbing energy.

Is it still real wood if the part you’re actually touching is plastic polyurethane lacquer?

Nah, these are Safari racers, most ‘em do a year or two on regular servicing, and even then it’s usually just a gasket and bearing change - they’re built for reliability as much as anything.

It’s a 2.0L V8.
Doesn’t need a rebuild, that cars gone years and years without anything but basic servicing work.

It’s solvable, it just needs some....slight mods....

It is on knobbly tyres...

I’ll talk to Vincent, give it 12 months and he’ll do it.

Seriously, the guy’s nuts.

It’s just a normal race dashboard:

Be okay if it didn’t look like an F1 replica that someone had attempted to make in a shed out of an old Dutton.

This. Competition, yes. Racing, no.

Pity nobody asked them to ‘do the right thing’ when they were busy grabbing money while people died.

I don’t even have a front anti-roll bar and I can still do that....

That’s nothing to do with the gears being helical or not and everything do with the specific gearset you have there.

It’s a gearbox, you’re size and weight limited.

Helical cut gears are actually stronger than straight cuts size-for-size, but dealing the with the side loads is an issue.

You’d have to pay me to visit most of those places.
