Elizabeth did that I think, not Philip. And I agree. The soldiers at the base — well they are combatants, it is arguable that he took combat to them.

"And then run and reap the rewards of her collaboration…"

No, the Canadians lost their citizenship first because the law in Canada extended to people who were not citizens and who worked for a foreign government, not just as diplomats; they contended this was a misuse and not the intent of the provision but they did not prevail. Second, they probably lost because there was a

That's a really false comparison. Would the young men die at the same time if he did not take the cells? No. Would the soldiers die five minutes later if Anna did not shoot them? Yes.

While I'm pointing out parallels let's acknowledge both women were raped.

But Elizabeth very clearly IS comparing herself to Anna and not favorably. It is no accident she calls her a monster, the very word Tim used about her. Can we say "projection" kids?

First I think the situation with Pasha may have some effect on Philip's thinking and second the situation with the man in the trunk of the car and with Mischa's mother (forgot the names too lazy to go find them) both showed that defectors get hunted down. I don't think that's reality, the KGB did not have the assets

At 16 after all the trauma visited upon her, and btw those men were GOING TO DIE no matter what SHE did…no I can't hold her fully responsible for what she did. And she tried to be a better person — and I would argue she succeeded — as soon as she could escape that place and those people.

I think they are both incredible. In this show it's got to be hard to be believable. If your acting isn't spot on it would stand out like a sore thumb in this ensemble. The writing evokes deeply emotional responses and the actors have to bring that out and deliver. And time after time they deliver.

In the previous episode Pastor Tim (in his journal) called them Monsters. It is no accident that in this episode Elizabeth calls Anna a Monster. I see it as her way of trying to deny her culpability. She projects it on Anna.

Well after I got a couple of complaints I solved it by doing what they could do — blocking. Not angry just accommodating them so they dont have to look at all my posts. :D

I repeat things a lot. It seems to bother some people but most don't read that much of the comments, so I repeat in different places where it seems to fit.

I'm not sure how many times is it permitted? I didn't know there was a rule. Are you a moderator?

I don't think Claudia has been fleshed out fully as a character, but her past and present behavior leave no doubt that she has little regard beyond the practical for her agents. By the practical I mean she worries about the impact of their feelings, which she only superficially understands, on their work. Gabriel

Well I agree that everything surrounding her is depressing but when I listen to the podcast Alison Wright does not seem to think Martha is depressed, She is "putting one foot in front of another" and getting on with her life. At any rate every Russian set is drab and gloomy and I think they are entirely overdoing that.

I just think it shows how much they have both changed. Because they have become a true married couple with children they love, they have transformed in other ways. Oh I think he has some pull toward his homeland but certainly not patriotic devotion. He isn't materialistic as the first episode would suggest; he's after

Let me clarify that Philip can pull the trigger to defend his family or perhaps to put an end to someone he is clear is bad, but not an ordered mission that requires he kill someone. Not gonna happen.

Given his penchant for older women, you're right.

I share you emotions on this, but they can't kill Tim because his lawyer will burn them if Tim dies. And I don't see them retiring happy….

I think the change from Gabriel to Claudia is significant. Yes, they do not like her. Gabriel they trusted. Her they DO NOT Trust. He would NEVER have told them about the virus being weaponized, he understood them. She has no understanding of them or no ability to empathize with them; and is an important element in
