After having pre-builts for the last few computers, in a few months I will be building my own again. I pre-ordered one of these cases which I think is rather pretty for what it is but it's going to take a few months before it gets to me :(

That "plateau" is reminiscent of the one from the current CTS-V. I think that, and the mesh grill are there to signify the 'V-series'.
