I mean… it even says in the copy that he applied to a similar ad a decade ago. As someone who has been reading this site nearly half that time longer again, I can vouch for it not being a new thing.

Agreed. I think it’s hideous. Not sure why everyone had such a hard-on for these. Having seen them in the flesh, too (even though they don’t seem to be sold where I live) - they just don’t have the road presence you’d want for a car of comparable price to an Audi, Mercedes or BMW.

Same. There’s just something inherently likeable about them, that I just don’t get with Tesla. Getting to see them in The Long Way Up was fun, too.

I keep hearing the same thing. I’ve just moved house recently and we’re kitting it out with various things we need. Couldn’t get the microwave oven we wanted because, and this comes from the guy selling them: the factory in France that produces the glass turntables for, seemingly, all manufacturers shut down during

Will be coming into production soon

I see exhausts

Ritmos used to get raced (along with Unos and first gen Puntos) in Ireland until relatively recently. They may still. But that would be the only time you’d see ‘em here. Wasn’t even aware of a cabrio version.

Can’t speak for other parts of Europe, but where I’m at, there’s only one kind of petrol, generally, on offer at the pump.

It just seems unfathomable to me that a 3.8 litre V6 can only make 197bhp. I get nearly that from my 2006 Volvo with just over half the capacity and one less cylinder. Why did American consumers stand for these massive engines with shitty numbers for so long?

Exactly! Only country I can think of where insurance premiums go up year-on-year, despite having never made a claim.

I lived in the city until about three or four years ago, so I didn’t start until I was 26 and didn’t get my full licence until passing my test (first time) a year later. I had always been a motoring enthusiast, since I was a kid (I don’t know how, because none of my elders were) but where I’m from, driving is just so

Agree 100%. I much prefer the design language on the current lineup. Especially the interior.

It always irked me how NONE of the Focus vents are in line, especially the middle pair.

Imola is probably the best example I can think of. The old-school tracks had what you’re talking about in spades, and still managed to be distinguishable from one another, unlike every Tilkedrome on the current calendar.

Let’s not forget the Hyundai Trajet. My first car...

This must be a piss-take?

Have good memories of this generation of S40, as my dad had one (albeit in tamer, naturally aspirated 1.8l, five-speed form). Since that, I’ve owned two Volvos, including my current V70 which replaced what is now my wife’s S60. My car is the junior of the two at 15 years of age. So yeah. I like Volvos.

I have done, but it’s a lunchtime tradition to my GMT-living ass

Thanks for including my suggestion in the list. George Karellas sent me a really nice email this morning and, after quite a shit week, it cheered me right up!

I have to mention Soup. Discovered it through Jalopnik, even though George Karellas is a compatriot of mine. I’m a patron of his show so it would be remiss of me not to bring it up, and hopefully get him more!
