I’ve been reading this site for nearly a decade and a half and wouldn’t be too useful wrenching. I’m mainly here for the pictures. 

Spend more than 8 seconds on a road where I live in northeast Ireland and you’ll almost certainly be delayed by a vintage tractor performing farmerly duties (usually missing a number plate and adequate lighting). It is more the norm to see this than a modern tractor, and it’s always been the case. 

That paintjob is magnificent.

Could totally have played bass for Kings of Leon back when they were good. I say bass because... helmet. I say back when they were good because their quality is inversely proportional to how clean shaven they are. 

Can we get a special mention for how much cooler the racing overalls look with minimal sponsorship?

A legitimate question that has received good answers below, but my question would be: why try to make the P2 class slower at all? If both classes were racing for overall position, it would make a far more interesting spectacle. I get the driver skill level comes into play, but it’s nice to dream. 

I think this car’s styling has aged superbly. Wasn’t a fan when they came out. Got to sit in one (in a friend’s mother’s garage, when I was a teenager) and it felt great. Didn’t quite convert me on the looks. Don’t see so many of them on our roads now, but the design has definitely grown on me. 

Do you guys still get a different Passat to the one we have in Europe? I know that was the case for at least one model. 

This season, it seemed more like Mercedes were the last to admit Ferrari weren’t the formidable contender, because it suited their clear sandbagging narrative at the beginning of the season. There’s only so long that kind of ruse can be maintained, but by the time it dawns on people, it’s already too late.

If you’re going to be that fucking stupid, then you deserve what comes to you. But why bring innocent bystanders into it? Fuck off and be a dangerous moron in your own space.

Love the look of these. Not a fan of convertibles (since I live in a country where I would permanently have to drive with the top up thanks to weather), but this is a fun wee recreational roadtrip car. Their reputation for bad reliability must have been gained on its way across the Atlantic. 

I’m predicting that to change. It’ll be like the 80s again (in a good way).
