David Lee is a collective hallucination corner:

The lack of David Lee in this episode makes it feel like he's the boogeyman. "David Lee sent me to negotiate." "David Lee told me to use my wiles to get that will done."

Man I know David Lee managed to speak to crazy yoga lady in that other episode, but the show is still shooting her scenes as if she were a phantom. It's actually causing me to suspect that David Lee is a phantom.

I have no idea when these go up anymore.

It appears to be just another monster-of-the-week thing. They're probably going to mention that something happened in London, and something was left behind. Nothing too specific, I imagine.

We're not THAT bad off.

My beloved Manila is the greatest shithole you'll ever visit.

Become? Joey Marquez was a mayor of a major city from 1995 to 2004.

Of course this can only be bias, but I vastly prefer On The Job.

You only need like, thirty minutes to bring steak to temperature.

The character pops up, but she doesn't get to speak. Which is just disappointing. The first film, for all its eventual fluffiness, had an interesting mean streak that made it stand out from the animated pack.

Okay HOLD ON! Sinigang is DELICIOUS!

Any chance of you catching Lav Diaz's Norte?

This would have been amazing at 100 minutes. At 130, it's still fun, but a lot of the middle section is a chore.

Plenty. My favorite films from the last few years are Six Degrees of Separation from Lilia Cuntapay, Ang Damgo Ni Eleuteria (The Dream of Eleuteria), Remington and the Curse of the Zombadings, Kalayaan, and Niño. From our vast history, we have Scorpio Nights, Himala, Batch '81, Oro Plata Mata, Insiang, and Genghis

Are you going to catch any of the Filipino films in this year's selection?

It depends entirely on your definition of "exotic foreign hellhole." Some people may look at what we're paying for broadband Internet and decide that the term is appropriate. I will say this: most of the Philippines isn't as dangerous as our movies make them out to be. Most of the population isn't made up of

They showed this a while back in Manila, in a very limited run meant only to qualify the film for consideration as our Oscars entry. They didn't advertise at all, so I think barely anyone here saw it.

Well politicians getting murdered every day is a overselling it a little bit. Maybe every other week. IF THAT!
