Me @ the entire hot mess this article is, including the fact that nearly all the images you’re showing (arguably) depict minors having sex, which you then...brush past without even really giving a second thought:

I have to agree. Mrs. Maisel is a great show and I say that as a millennial married to a millennial and both of us love the show. My wife, who agrees with me on virtually nothing when it comes to TV and movies, and I are huge fans.

Gotta throw my voice in here. You sound salty as hell that what you like didn’t get awards over shows you don’t like. You’re not some universal authority on deciding what’s outstanding.

You could have saved a lot of time by just tweeting outI didn’t like Bandersnatch...” and maybe add a sadface to really hammer it home. Then maybe follow it up with a devastating “Emmys are MEH”.  But be careful you wouldn’t want to be a “victim of its own cleverness”.

Agreed. I am a two time Emmy nominee and one time winner, and I’m really proud of the work I’ve done. Gita shouldn’t bash the awards shows just because she doesn’t agree with all the results. The awards are all based on opinions anyway. If she wants to try to shape the system, she should go ahead and inquire about

100%.

Agreed

A lot of people love Mrs. Maisel, including several millenials I know. It’s really grating when you treat your opinion as fact, Gita, especially when you are shitting on something. Calling it a “misstep” is far more condescending than saying something like, “that confused” or “bothered me”, or “I disagreed with

I thought the same thing. Sure Atlanta probably is a better show than Mrs. Maisel, but its comedy is a bit more subversive. It doesn’t really fit into the comedy category. However, it’s not like there’s a subjective method to rating a TV show. Some people like different stuff, and that’s fine. All of these awards

Mrs. Maisel is outstanding and definitely as good as GLOW in that list imho. Bandersnatch was very good too but its best bit was how it recreated the britsoft era, something that obviously flies past many people

How else can they write a hit piece on something they didn’t like? And this win is certainly no more offensive than say, Green Book or Crash.

Counter-point. I find Glow, Barry, Curb, UBKS, and Black-ish moderately funny at best. Maisel makes me laugh a lot. Silicon Valley is far too simple and repetitive; they need new writers. Ep.1: “Oh no, we screwed ourselves! Whatever will we do?” Last episode: “By some miracle or serendipity we’ve unscrewed ourselves!

Now playing

I only have to think back to last year for an example of the latter, where The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel won the award for Outstanding Comedy Series over Barry, Atlanta, Black-ish, Glow, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Silicon Valley, and The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Mrs. Maisel is fine—my boyfriend’s mom likes it a lot. Fine is

The soccer comments are dickish because Billy has been told the same complaints about his writing over and over and over for years - enough with the ridiculous paragraph-long run-on sentences, the use of fourteen paragraphs to make an incredibly banal point that could have been made in two sentences, the constant

Not to put too fine a point on it, but more specifically:

Anyone on the Shitty Men in Media list, because god only knows they haven’t suffered any consequences or have ever been brought up on any of these sites, for reasons *wink wink nudge nudge*

Publicly mocking your owners seems ... foolish. I mean, yeah, you’re protected by your CBA, but they do ultimately hold the purse-strings. You will, at one point, need their backing on something. Publish your story, by all means, but keeping things polite doesn’t cost you anything. Yes, if in the future, you need them

Man I truly hope they lay you all off.

Let’s see what dearest Kelsey McKinney has to say about this.
