Pretty much what my dad told me before I went out and bought a new car against his advice. I wish I would have listened to him and I hope the kids reading this article listen to you.

No, it isn't time for a test, you don't test until you can reasonably expect to pass. No what it's time for is to send autonomous cars to school. Create a standard, and then allow development on CLOSED COURSES until the technology is to a reliable point. Live alpha testing on public roads? It's insanity. It's like

I did t bother to read past the first paragraph, because it’s pretty obviously just another “America is so backwards” article. Im just about as liberal as you can get, but love it or leave it. Move to Europe, then. And btw, the US isn’t the only country not on the metric system, you forgot Liberia and Myanmar.

Not sure how you think converting an ICE truck to electric would be "cheaper" than cutting body panels off and attaching a truck bed?

Glad to know I’m not the only one who saw that. Shiny paint over a ton of Bondo. They could’ve at least smoothed it out.

In all seriousness though, it WOULD turn heads at Moab, and if you find your donor cars now... You could call it PT Crawler.

David, I want to apologise for earlier suggesting that you should buy a Honda Civic. I was motivated by a selfish desire to continue reading about you doing ill advised things in vehicles that have no business on the road. What you should do for your winter rig is find an old Cherokee and sit a PT Cruiser on it.

Id love to see it if you have a pic! I love the old woodies, but I remember how labor intensive just the maintenance was on my dad’s Owens. If I could afford to have someone else maintain it, there would be a bullnose Constellation in the boathouse, for sure.

Its ALL about patience. Also, don’t go into any restoration project expecting to make money, the odds are against it. I spent 4 years and way too much money restoring a 24 foot Sea Ray I found in a barn. In retrospect I should have left it there, but once I realized how bad it was (much, much worse than it appeared) I

I did not. Good thing it wasn't a snake!

I see a newish at the time C4 and an already just about classic Mercedes, but past that I don't think the Datsun F10, Chevy Cavalier, Honda Civic or the old Galaxy really counted as a "very expensive" car. Cool old Galaxy though.

You mean Japanese bikes? JDM (Japanese domestic market) stays in Japan.

Its the last one because why would you want a stick in a full sized tow rig? Modern automatics are smoother and more efficient, and towing heavy shit with a stick sucks. Think about pulling a large boat up a ramp. Even most class 8 trucks are automatics now.

My point being that "they" can't nail you for DUII 2 hours after the fact pretty much anywhere. Canada is an outlier.

Thats pretty much what they're doing.

You know the US and Canada have different legal systems, right?

Clueless much or have you figured it out yet?

I love your "mom and me" stories. Please keep them coming.

We've got them on the Oregon coast, and the combo KFC/A&W in the Sunnyside area too.

The fact that his clothes were found next to the bank proves nothing of the sort. If he went for a swim I would think he wouldn't be swimming in riding gear. An earlier comment suggested someone found the wallet and left the clothes, sadly that makes the most sense. Went for a swim in cold water and didn't make it
