No one can leave well enough alone ever

Thanks for that header, me and the misuses were just getting around to watching it!

If Illinois wasn’t a two party consent state, I’d have done the same with an ex-employer. It sucks but currently, corporations have more rights than we do as workers. We gotta do what we gotta do to protect ourselves and our future livelihood from incompetent and predatory employers.

I’ve done the same, when meeting with my HR department.. Ended up catching a pretty great recording of our HR director going on a rant about how worthless I am, and how I’m not a team player.. Really though he was just upset because I showed up to the meeting with the receipts.

NDA’s are not allowed or enforceable regarding those paid on the taxpayers dime or if a criminal matter has occurred. She’s free to sing like a canary on both counts.

I recorded my conversations my boss when he wanted to fire me for no apparent reason (it went to court eventually and I won because the judge said my boss was crazy for thinking he could fire me for no good reason) because that guy was actually crazy. I ended up recording him saying things like: “Well, you are just

Fact: Shitty bosses come in both genders. No one has ever disputed this.

goddamn, an iPhone would have come in handy back in my nightmare job.

Genius,CIA could use you,Can relate.

Every phone has one. Android (I’m using a Samsung Galaxy note 8) and the voice recorder was pre installed. I used my old note 5's voice recorder for class when I slept. Most Android phones don’t, but there are apps. Trust, folks in that shitshow of a white house probably dropped iPhones for Android and have so much

That’s what’s UP! As long as it was legal you were not only in the RIGHT but definitely smart to defend and protect yourself against any wrongdoing!

I think the reasoning is that if someone is recording surreptitiously, she/he can guide the conversation in a way that disadvantages the party/parties who don’t know they are being recorded. So it’s not an objective situation, it can be seen as one-sided or a trap to the parties in the dark.

Well, she had to work really hard to bring back all the class to the White House. /s

NY is one party consent.

Under federal law, which controls and not DC law, it’s one party consent. 18 USC 2511(d).

I did something similar with my last full time job. I was also in a one party consent state. My bosses were misclassifying me as an independent contractor, so I went to the IRS to get that fixed. I was in a very strict at-will state which didn’t recognize really any exceptions to that doctrine, so they could’ve fired

Pretty sure that “one party law” goes for phone conversations as well.

For many companies, the bad pr from a recording outweighs whatever satisfaction they could derive for prosecuting someone for recording.

I put my phone in my bra and turned on record. Brought in an old phone as a dup. and this was grocery retail!!

I prefer to give women like this my attention.
