Weird take even outside of your forgetting about Holodrum, Labrynna, New Hyrule and Hytopia.

Yeah, firing all the developers when usually if a game is a shitshow it’s the fault of the executives. Capitalism continues on.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this industry needs space for failure. When the only path forward is a safe bet, we get homogenized, sterile work only.

Super Mario Bros. 2 gave us the best Princess Peach. Sure Toad could pull out veggies faster and Luigi could jump higher but Peach could freakin’ float.

Be quiet, Microsoft. Everything you’re accusing Sony of doing (paying studios for console exclusivity, keeping DLC exclusive to one platform over others, etc), you have also done in the past.

You’re right, but it will fall on deaf ears. Kotaku has decided, apparently as a matter of editorial policy, to be aggressively ignorant when it comes to how LLMs and AI actually work. It’s much easier to craft sensationalist nuggets when you completely eschew nuance and forego taking the time to understand something

Xbox (original) outsold GameCube, and Xbox One outsold WiiU (by a HUGE margin). I think they might be playing this up a bit for some unexplainable reason :P

It’s literally an HD version of the original game’s art.  I love it.

Super super cool how they acquired a bunch of (seemingly) stable and successful developers and now are gonna lay off a bunch of people and shut down those same studios because they got greedy and bought more than they could afford.

I’m sorry that had happened to you, and that the game’s imagery made you uncomfortable because of it.

What a lukewarm take. Tons of games punish with death/save reload based on path selection. And this game gives you several exit options - warp, build, reload. It’s not a soft lock, it’s an open world game.

That’s...not a glitch. It's an open world game--fast travel away and try again. What did you expect, Lakitu to show up and dump you back where you’re "supposed" to be?

It shouldn’t have been so easy to do something so “wrongly” in a game all about your freedom. This is the first time since the early 90s playing Sierra games where it’s ever seemed necessary to quit and reload an old save.

I just did the fire temple, landed in the middle, and got out fine.

Are you... are you Todd Howard?

I do think there’s a big difference between having it laid out in nice little bubbles during any scene with a single button press, vs having to go a couple layers deep into a menu to read paragraphs after the scenes. This sounds much closer to Triangle Strategy’s system where it gives you a quick little summary of

I’ve seen a lot of people dunking on this (and the messaging about the devs being confused doesn’t help lol), but Triangle Strategy had something very similar and it absolutely ruled. We’ll see if XVI uses it as more of a supplement vs a crutch, but I want to see this become the norm for RPGs going forward.

You could have spent 10 seconds on google to avoid making stupid posts like that.

He’s got over 15 million subs on YouTube.  Your anecdotal lack of awareness of him does not negate his popularity.

“This will be the third year in a row now that players have been waiting for Nintendo to announce a more powerful handheld hybrid.”

People have been clamoring for a Switch Pro since the year the thing came out. And, “in a row”? Like players were ever going to take a year off from speculation?
