Public berating most likely. But Koreans have history with the Japanese to begin with, and that goes double for DPRK, where their foundation myth is entirely predicated on Kim Il Sung rising to power as an anti-Japanese resistance fighter.

I was laughing about this last night with my girlfriend. I disagree, I watch more snowboarding than 99.9% of people in non-Olympic years, and I think they’ve done a fairly good job trying to rope in casual fans. The terminology is difficult and technical and they split the difference between explaining it to snowboard people and explaining it to lay people pretty well.

You know, he’s ok. He’s really not doing anything special. He’s got a good voice, but not a great one, not the best we’ve heard. It’s just, these early conditions set up to make it much easier to quarter-ass your way through an analyst gig that you really don’t deserve.

This is the true paradox of Olympic coverage. Regular sports fans want sports. Olympics-only sports fans want backstory. They try to balance both and end up pleasing neither.
