It's one of my biggest fears that I will freeze up in a real-life danger situation like that, so I try to mentally prepare myself, but it seems difficult to develop an instinct without ever really being able to practice it. This is very helpful info - thanks.

The worst part was hearing her scream. That is the sound of a person being attacked and being scared for her life. I hated having to hear that.

Wow - yes! I'd never ever heard of that. To be honest, I was pretty sold on trying the cup after this comment thread (but I'm with you - dishwasher? No.); however, that is a tempting-sounding alternative. Thank you!

Oooh, thank you Jane-Luc! That is good to know. So glad you like it! Am excited to give it a test drive.

Thank you so much, indoorkitty! This is great info and I'm getting really excited to try it! I can't believe I'm sharing this tidbit on the internet, but I did have an unfortunate moment with a powerful sneeze and a tampon once, so I've been there :)

Right! I recognize it now. Thank you!

Yes, am reading that fit is important. A few commenters posted this link as a great resource: http://menstrual-cups.livejournal.com. Thanks for your insight & hope you find one that works for you!

Yeah, I'll definitely need to look into the brands! Thanks so much! I HATE pads, but sometimes I have to double up due to heavy flow. If a cup could take care of that for me, I'd be over they moon. Looking forward to trying it out. Thanks again!

Amazing. I have never heard such a compelling argument for the silicone cooter shot glass. I love it.

Awesome info! Thank you. I really liked the points people made about travel and overnight - definitely enough to give it a try. Now to decide on a brand...

I am, thank you! I hadn't realized there were different brands, but of course that makes sense. Thank you so much for your insight!

OB! For the Original Badass.

Awesome! Yes, LOVE the shower tip. I think that's a comfortable place to get used to inserting. And that link looks so helpful. Thank you very much!

Ha! Yoga princess diva snowflakes. Sounds like it's one of those things you just have to try for yourself. I'm glad it's working for you! Will report on my progress, heh.

That's an awesome tip! I think I've decided to try it, but glad to have that little tidbit stored away for dealing with the mess.

I think I'm going to give it a spin! Awesome to hear your thoughts, though. I am concerned about the messy factor, but I'd hate to knock it before I try it. Thank you!

Joy, this was so, so helpful. Thank you. I think I've decided the take the plunge. I'm thinking I'll start with the Diva Cup, but I'll check out that Livejournal first. I'm glad to hear it works well for you!

Yeah, that's what it sounds like. Welp, I guess I'm gonna try it! I'll report back. Maybe my uterus will even get a Twitter account! "Feelin' like a #diva today #YOLO"

Thank you MisHandmaiden! This was really informative and helpful! I didn't even consider feeling it - hmmm. The overnight tip is great!! I get paranoid about that sometimes and set an alarm to wake up and change my tampon, which is ridiculous but necessary. Sounds like that could be a solution. Thanks again!

Haha EW GO BACK TO DEADSPIN.
