“F-Zero... has never really had enough of a game to it to justify playing it”

The legal drinking age IS 18 in pretty much every country except the USA.

I think it was only on Reddit that people *ever* said that

Correct, it’s not a meme. It’s a catchphrase. Or a punchline perhaps. We did have words for these things before the internet.

People have been referring to themed shitposts as “memes” for like 10 years dude. (BTW “stop, he’s already dead” isn’t a meme either, since it doesn’t mutate or evolve.)

Ohh right, THESE are the comments that get through this site’s rigorous comment approval process

HE probably won’t. But the USA is full of KR wannabes, and they all just got told they if they acted out their murder fantasies it would be cool, heroic and legal - why, even the cops would call them heroes.

Can’t help but be pissed that about 6 years ago I sold a C64, yellowed but in full working order, sound chip and all, with about 200 games, for £25 (about $30).

IDK about “flat and apathetic” - at the screening I was at, the audience laughed out loud when it panned across from her heartfelt death speech to the womp-womp reveal of the enormous gaping wound just out of frame.

You could have just written “yes but it’s all for her own good, I assume, because she’s probably a danger to herself, or maybe someone, I reckon? Anyway whatever it is, it’s definitely enough reason to take most of someone’s human rights away. Probably, I haven’t checked” and it would have been just as insightful in

RIP Bellonna...

No pain, no gain. No shoes, no socks. No hair, no haircut.

I saw a YT vid the other day where someone said “Lorde is just Bjork for normal people who go to parties” and I don’t think I’ll ever see her as anything else

Sorry folks, but can someone please tell me who “Chance” is? I’ve been searching for about 20 minutes, but given that the people involved are called “chance” and “judge,” this is pretty google-proof. Who he?

... so now that we’ve established south Asian Americans exist, it’s not good that they didn’t cast one. This has nothing to do with Hello Nurse.

We get it. Cheerleading for Reagan = not political. Pointing out Reagan’s flaws and shortcomings - political.

Did you catch the Unspooled episode about OFotCN? They felt pretty much the same - the film goes to a lot of lengths to make McMurphy look like a cool and reasonable guy (such as skating over the crime he was actually convicted of, and rounding up the age of the victim), and apparently the misogyny is even more

Tone policing noted.

Nah, he’d drop someone ELSE’s iPhone in a river, then complain that Old Steve was giving him crap about his stupid iPhone.

I certainly thought the film was lionising Lester and holding him up as a hero. I think a lot of put-upon suburban hero(ine) narratives at the time tended to worship their main character as an angel and the answer to everyone’s problems, and the fact that AB portrays Lester as flawed did seem like a bit of a new take
