She stood up to a dictator on behalf of the Constitution, the country, and the people. She deserves to be reinstated and hailed as a hero, and I trust she will be once this regime is toppled. Perhaps she can be involved in the prosecution during the next round of Nuremberg trials.

or if the right just keeps moving so far to the far end

I especially like fact 3:

I can think of about 62 million people who fit that exact description.

Cosigned. We can help, as long as the constant “Fuck the flyover states!” refrain doesn’t keep riling up the reactionaries into drowning us out. I mean, Wisconsin used to be a bastion of Progressivism, until the Dems just abandoned them.

To be fair, literally any haircut he’s sporting would be a Nazi haircut.

They won. They legitimately won. In 15 short years, with only one goddamn major attack, they got America to completely dismantle its liberal democracy and install a fascist dictatorship.

I hate to break it to you, but...

America is a country literally founded by protest. It is intrinsic to our very way of life to stand up and fight for what we believe in. Protest is the most sacred right of Americans, which is why the founders insisted that the First Amendment to the Constitution enshrine the right of citizens to dissent and to speak

“It has been said that Vogons are not above a little bribery and corruption in the same way that the sea is not above the clouds, and this was certainly true in his case. When he heard the words integrity or moral rectitude he reached for his dictionary, and when he heard the chink of ready money in large quantities

It really is, especially as we move into this new Trumpy political climate. Those who speak truth to power and expose this sort of corruption and oligarchy are potentially putting themselves in real danger.

I forgot to add something: Don’t forget to celebrate the victories. Whenever a judge stays an executive order, whenever a Republican is pushed into voting against party lines, whenever public outcry is enough to block something horrible, take a moment to let yourself feel good. Morale is a major force in any movement

That was a good read, thanks. I may check the book out after I get through the few I’m working on now.

Don’t try to do everything. You’ll burn yourself out. Really, I think the best thing to do is help with what you can, when you can, but always remember that there are millions more fighting the good fight, and it’s okay for you to miss some of the battles. You need to take care of yourself, too.

That’s definitely a big part of it. There’s also a very cult-like sycophancy; they’ve so thoroughly tied their identities to this movement and party, that they can’t admit anything is wrong.

It’s genuinely as if they’re actually trying to destroy everything. Every action they’ve taken or suggested is exactly the opposite of what would be beneficial. I just don’t understand how anyone is still defending him/them, when he’s destroying their lives and futures.

Yeah, that makes it tough. I have a cousin who’s considered moving, but there’s no way her ex would let her take their daughter to another country, and she’d never leave her behind.

Honestly, that’s probably a good idea. I’m going to see if my Danish relatives can do anything to help me move there. I’ve been learning the language, and I’m getting close to having enough money to do it.
