You are correct, many people play the game diffrently and that’s where Niantic made the mistake of not coming up with a way that would serve both side : the casual player and the hardcore one that would spend hours catching pokemons

I get that there is a way of finding them without walking around aimlessly but if someone doesn’t have that much time to play being able to find them fast would be ideal and if you have to walk around verifying that the pokemon is not in this or that direction you would be wasting alot of time 

People are so rigid because even though you know theres a pokemon nearby you have no idea in which direction to go, i’ve caught a snorlax like that by pure luck it appeard in the sightings and i started walking in a random direction, but i’ve also lost alot of pokemon that i wanted because they diseppeard by me going…

What tracking? the tracking was: here are three paws starting walking in a random direction and hope its the right one, not to mention that the tracking system got broken very early and every pokemon had three paws even if he was next to you
