It's kind of unfortunate that the coolest game museum in Japan is going to be located so far from Tokyo, but if I'm ever in the area, that's one place to check out.

Well then, it's a good thing Sakurai confirmed Smash as a party game, and we can all move on to actual fighting games with a far greater breadth of mechanical depth and balance. And nobody will feel the need to "fix" a fun game into something mundane as if they were actual game designers.

*RIDES OFF IN HIS SPUTTERING

Okay well, I was just trying to figure out what problems you have with the actual mechanics, and the only thing you've been saying is that the animations are stiff, (and then some stuff happens), and then I guess that leads to poor mechanics for the whole game, which is hyperbole. You keep saying it's not well

I'm clearly talking about the aesthetics of the animations, not about the frames therein. Please do not talk down to me as if I didn't know anything about the genre. There's nothing constructive there, just provocations into childish pissing contests.

You've mentioned no reasons as to why the gameplay is antiquated,

There's nothing antiquated about the combat systems or movement systems...that would imply they have been rehashing the same formula since the old Mortal Kombat games, and they haven't. Unless you're just talking about the animations, which already look better than the ones in MK9 and have no bearing on the actual

I just don't see much point in reviving the IP if all you're going to do is just take someone else's mechanics and make a carbon copy of that. I find Tekken's system to be weird and not very fun, but I believe it is well designed. Mortal Kombat 9 is far better designed than anything they've put out since the days of

Really? I don't think that...at all. MK9 took bits from Tekken when they made the combo system, that much inspiration is clear to see. The only thing I see "ripping off" Street Fighter (but that's not really true either, since almost every fighting game has a super meter of sorts) is the meter system, and even then

Well, I think the animations look better than MK9. I agree, they were really rigid.

At least with MK9 they kept Kenshi for DLC — he was the most solid design from those games IMO.

If you've been playing MK since the original, you must concede that the characters shown in this trailer are far more interesting than any of the garbage designs (or worse, re-designs) that came after MK4 until MK9.

I mean seriously.

Yeah you probably read his drafts. The finished, published version is cleaned up and nice.

Reminds me of Everquest... *sigh*

I've been to several arcades here in Fukuoka and Tokyo. It ain't pretty, as is. Arcades will be gone within the next 10 years unless owners do some serious overhaul. Their biggest problems thus far are:

Yeah as far as sexualized stuff goes, I wouldn't mind if it was equally distributed and presented to both sexes, but it's not. :(

It's easy to rationalize and say that there's nothing sexualized here because that's just the visual status quo and that there's no real sexual portrayal, but that would be a folly conclusion arrived from a cargo cult mentality. You constantly, CONSTANTLY see these disgustingly, pointlessly risqué female designs for

It really just depends on
