As stwy mentioned, Guards! Guards! is a good start. Couldn't agree more. Actually Vimes and the Watch books are my favorite Discworld novels. My favorite has always been Night Watch though. Damn thing is such a cinematic novel. Of course if you want some otherworldy goodness try out Reaper Man it's fantastic. Read more
