There was a significant number of Mariners fans who bought into that at the time too...it was awful.

You’d hear/read things like “He only steals bases when he knows he won’t get caught”—as if that was a bad thing.

I do hope the basketball and hockey fans in Seattle read this article and realize that the NBA is never coming back...and the NHL might never come.

I was here when Ken Behring put all the weight room equipment into trucks and moved the woeful Seahawks to Anaheim (the NFL turned those trucks back around.)

Can’t really defend far too many recent Seahawks fans. Personally, I grew up in Wisconsin before moving to Seattle, I’m a Packers fan by birth anyway.

And, I remember when I moved here that U-Dub Husky football fans were even worse than Seahawks fans have been.

So, I’m not saying that Seattle sports fans deserve more…

Nope. Not even terrorists flying into buildings could make me feel good about the Yankees winning.

If the Mariners couldn’t win that year, I was very happy that it was “anybody but the Yankees.”

To be honest, both Junior and A-Rod (and Randy, for that matter) took their greatness away from Seattle...and we were happy someone was ready to step into that empty spotlight.
