That’s entirely dependent on how you define “white.” My Italian immigrant ancestors weren’t considered white when they came to America in the 19th century, the Nazis considered Eastern Europeans to be racial inferiors, and if you asked most Americans if a North African was white, they’d think you’re nuts.
