Shit. There's a page on eater DC that lists the best 11 avocado toasts in town.
Ugh.

Cork: grilled bread with sliced avocado, pistachios, pistachio oil and sea salt $13 (a yelp review says "BEST avocado toast I've ever had in a restaurant. I know, that's a big statement")
Crisp: smashed avocado, watercress, chili oil, and an egg $30 (with bottomless mimosas or Bloody Mary)
Dukes grocery: uses arugula…
They can't afford blenders.
Shit man. It's popped up on menus at a lot of places here in DC. I don't blame restaurants for offering it. After all, hard to imagine an easier way to make $10.50 of profit on a brunch plate. It's purely a demand side issue, and I'm sure you can surmise which demographic has an insatiable appetite for avocado toast.
EXACTLY!!
And I'm weary, oh so weary, of seeing it on brunch menus for like 12 bucks. Ugh.
I'm still experiencing PTSD from a student loan refinancing company recently offering millennials free avocado toast for a year if they consolidated their student loans with that company, which, as I understand it, was a hugely successful promotion.
Im sure some millennial kid will be more than happy to make some avocado toast for you.
What pisses me off the most about millennials claiming the avocado as something that embodies or represents the generation is that the only thing they use it for is fucking avocado toast.
yeah, Bill Bullard was also one of the Globetrotters that went to N. Korea with Dennis Rodman. I think the Washington Generals were in the right on that one.
perhaps, and flaming trolls is just fine. I was just a little miffed that my comment generated that reaction. It's not like I'm trolling people for enjoying the show.
fair points. Naturally, the FBI folks and DoppelCoop, as well as the TP Sheriff's department are headed to the same place (literally). That isn't as clear to me with respect to any of the other storylines. But it will be interesting to see how those threads are handled.
In this day and age of prestige television and high end directors/producers/writers shopping around all kinds of top-flight material, HBO decides to renew . . . Ballers?
As soon as GOT7 is over, I'm canceling HBO until GOT8 comes 'round.
Ha. Well, I'm not sure where I was "whining about this amazing 18 hour gift." There is an ongoing discussion here, and while I agreed that the show is incredibly intriguing, I simply disagreed with the proposition that, at this point in time, the series is "satisfying." That alone triggered someone to say "well, you…
All I know is that I'm cancelling Showtime the second TPTR is over.
true, still probably falls within my top 10 over the last 10 years though. Still has the potential to rise or fall though, depending on how the season ends out.
and a half million in cash. and a Beemer. Don't forget the Beemer.
and, I'd just add, for some reason fans of this show seem to be quite into telling people, "if you have x opinion of this show that falls short of complete awe, maybe you're not the audience, and maybe you should watch something else."
I'm certainly not hoping for a complete plot resolution a la the series finale of Lost. What I am hoping for is, as you put it, a convergence.
I'm not quite seeing the plots converging "left and right," though there is certainly forward movement in some of the plotlines. And I'd note that third act is continuing to…
I think that's right. There's a lot of unresolved stuff out there. I'm fine without everything being tied in a bow, but some of these plotlines need to be cleaned up.
But at the very least, we can be confident that the series' run was planned beginning to end, and that everything is intended.
