I don't think that conclusion is supportable either, particularly in light of the fragments of information provided.

Dammit. A Russia apologist liked my post.

I watched the segment. The conclusion that the document they received contained artifacts that were lifted from a yet-published Intercept article didn't seem supportable. Considering that all color printers have a "thumbprint" (apparently intended to prevent the forgery of currency), the fact that 10 or so dots (out

Wait a sec… isn't that why journalists are supposed to confirm stories through multiple sources, and not just report on and immediately publish anonymously sourced random documents that come through the email or the fax machine?
So essentially, Maddow ran a segment about how she did her job. cue eye roll in 5 . . .

Ah, sorry to hear that! I had a similar thing happen to me in Seattle. A planned trip to Cinerama got nixed due to scheduling issues.
Even if Dunkirk's run has ended, it's worth a detour. Ray's the Classics, across the street, has a great burger.

It's kinda interesting how you lumped Kill Bill 1 and 2 together, even though they were pretty distinct in terms of style and cinematic influences. Oftentimes, people seem to like one far more than the other.
I have to say that the performances in the Hateful Eight weren't quite up to the level as the performances

Yeah, super, super lucky. Just pre-purchased my tix for Dunkirk. so excited. Had to restrain myself from buying a second set of tix for the following weekend.
I'm near the AFI Silver in Silver Spring MD. It doesn't have giant auditoriums or screens, but it's a really nice, well-designed theater. Their movie

walking distance, bitches!
Can't wait. Best news of the day!

You have a good point. Though, I didn't think I was quite going so far as to say Twitter is a non-factor. I don't think it's the cause, and with some illnesses, it's the symptoms that kill you.

Eh, sometimes the censored bits make things look more exciting than they really are. See also Japanese porn.

That's a pretty superficial response. The question is whether the default lens through which the Trump fans read the NPR tweets would be applied if the same tweets had come from the NRA. I'd submit that it wouldn't, and the tweets would be read in a favorable light (i.e as something other than anti-trump rhetoric)

he's made a career being an opinionated blowhard. So he has an opinion about Baby Driver? La-dee-f*ckin-da. Who gives a sh*t?

Eh, not so sure I agree with that. The question is whether these people would have read the tweets with the same lens with which they read the NPR posts. My point being that context matters.
If a MAGA person reads something from NPR, they're going to take the worst possible or most negative meaning from it. Would

very thoughtful response that clearly shows that the wrongs of the British government listed in the Declaration of Independence were far more systemic and wide-reaching than the abuses the confederate states claims to have suffered from the federal government.

Um, no. Secession was a natural right in the case in the face of the wrongs of the British government, which included excessive taxation without consent, maintenance of standing armies, forcing colonists to quarter those armies, a biased judicial system, unjust extradition, failing to protect the colonists,

I would love to see what the reaction would have been had the NRA posted the Declaration of Independence in 140-character blurbs.

Twitter is a symptom, not a cause. I think people have been prone to superficially reading material out of context and emotionally overreacting to it for a long time now.

This guy isn't as bad as some, but he isn't as good as many.

part of me just wants the news corps of every legitimate/professional news organization to just walk out and refuse to participate in these press conferences. They're just a farce at this point.

That's basically my default position until 2021.
