Those are two different things, though, I suppose it could be both.

You're right — the evil in the woods etc, goes back before 1945. The existence of the petroglyph too is an indication of that.
I think the question of how literally to take the episode (i.e. whether Bob was "born" or brought into this reality for the first time during the Trinity blast) depends on whether Bob is an

So… Laura… Counterbalance to Bob, or Bob-bait?

It is wildly uneven and there are a few episodes that are a bit of a slog. I think it helps a lot if you like the weird, rural American Gothic-esque aesthetic of season 1. Makes the slow parts a little more palatable and the show as a whole perhaps a little more enjoyable.
But you know, Season 1 isn't all that

Fun episode. I dunno. I'm quite enjoying this. The lack of any compunction in offing supporting cast (many of whom would be interesting characters in their own right) is pretty startling.
enjoyable popcorn fare. I'll reserve my thinking cap for Twin Peaks and for Preacher, I'm just going to enjoy the ride.

I think the secret plan is to have Erlich show up again in 5 years time as a skinny opium junkie.

no love for persona 5, eh? About 100 hours deep, and it's fantastic. Yes. I know it's basically the RPG equivalent as a rail shooter, but dammit, the characters are great, the story is enjoyable and doesn't have too much filler, the combat system is fun, and the graphics/sound are hip as shit. It's not a

Yeah, the translation was mediocre. I was glad they provided the original Japanese dialogue as DLC.

See you in five years Erlich.

Had some weird dreams after the double feature. Made for an interesting Monday morning commute.

the portrayal of Cooper-doppelgänger/Bob is interesting in that he's so coldly rational and calculating. Leland/Bob was much more primal and wild. Same goes for the portrayal of Bob in the lodge. Make me wonder about the Bob/host relationship and what bob is like as a standalone entity.

And I suppose the giant is the "good" version of "the experiment model". interesting the model hasn't made an appearance before now.

1. Good catch!
2. Indeed. The particular timing is likely a moot point. Perhaps the only important thing is that Laura was created in response to the creation of Bob. Which creates a new spin on things. If Laura was a reaction to Bob, why was she so corruptible?

Two questions:
1. Was that thing that puked out Bob the same thing that appeared in the clear box and cut up the couple?
2. The giant that sent down Laura… is that a present day scene or contemporaneous with the nuke scene?

I saw the ball bustin', and I appreciated the rant. On the big points, I don't disagree. I'm tired of seeing "umami burger!" and "umami fries!" and "umami salad!" and stuff like that. it's reached ridiculous levels worth ridiculing.

Haha. Yeah, okay.

So yeah. It's the gonads of the sea urchin. You cut it open, and pull them out. It's way easier to show than tell. . .

How surprising was it for the season to end on a hopeful note for Nacho and a hopeful note for Jimmy? I gotta say, after slip and fall, I was worried Jimmy would be well on the way to going full Saul, but it looks like they're going to give us some more ups and downs before Jimmy lands in the gutter.
Great episode.

I think you've nailed it. Chuck endures for the sake of the fight. Once his targets were removed, he had nothing left except the fight against himself and his psychosomatic illness.
The house cold be viewed as a stand-in for Chuck himself. He tears it up, tries to find the problem, but he can't, no matter how

delicious glue. One of my favorite things to eat in the second grade. and now we know why.
