Didn’t know that. My taste in beer is pretty narrow. (Not that my taste is any good; it’s just the way I like the stuff.) I prefer stouts and “wee heavy” sorts of beer. Here in VA, it’s pretty hard to find non-IPA and non-Pilsner beers in cans. Heck, the beers I do like (and Guiness is not one of my favorites) don’t

The link to the flags page is broken.

And if you can tell me about a beer that comes in a can that is really good beer, I would appreciate learning of it. Thanks.

Actually, I missed seeing Wilt’s name in the article, so thought I was rectifying that. My bad. Otherwise, I have no idea what you are going on about. Sorry.

The WBC extra-innings scenario has nothing to do with pace of play or any other typical baseball extra-innings issues. It’s all about spring training baseball pitchers getting their innings in and not getting over-extended (and, to some degree, batters getting their bats in and not getting injured). Once the ST

It’s called a lack of respect for other people. People who don’t respect other people are just jerks. Sadly, life will give you exactly what you deserve and you will wonder why.

Indeed, there is hope. I wonder if there is any speculation/research about the quality of the broadcast team being any indicator of the ultimate quality of the team itself?

Took a train to Boston. There were about 2 taxis available there, and one of them was an uber. What a mess.

pfft. Not worried. I, the FIRST་owner of a Ford Edge, which I happen to love, can’t access, with my own phone, the FORD app software. Good luck to future owner.

Well, in Chally72's defence. the “boat/ship” thing is pretty much (or was pretty much, when I was in the USNavy,) important only to submariners, not guys in ships floating on the surface (or “targets” as the my submariner friends us). Walking the plank on a sub is probably a bad thing, too.

Agreed. The amazing thing is that the PRC doesn’t see how silly these “laws” are. Ranks right up there will the law that all Tibetans that are planning to re-incarnate in Tibet/China must pre-register with the government for permission to do so. lol This is the same government that apparently thought for many years

That would be Civil War II. (Wait, that may be copyrighted.)

Well, Nixon, Reagan, then Trump. Don’t see any difference between the lot. And, sadly, I voted for Nixon. I think the best thing about democracy is that these puds (and all the Democratic puds) just don’t have the energy to really screw up Democracy completely (so far)

Interesting goal. I am not sure I am aware of any language app or site that teaches only hearing. Don’t know why that “shortcut” is not readily available (that I know of). Japanese is a bit different (like some others, I assume) in that learning the written languages involves learning (at least) 3 other syllabaries

Interesting. How much savings, exactly, will you gain? For what size house? Considerable Fun Factor aside (not sure how to quantize that except when it just overwhelms me lol), those numbers will probably determine whether I buy the HUE and how soon. Thanks.

My knowledge of 4x4 was pretty limited in the early seventies. I only knew of the USAF “Jeep” back then. I always felt that jeep could climb a cliff in 1st gear.  The USAF also had a “6-pack” in the early 70's that was used to ferry USAF Security Policeman to and from (and between) missile sites in the Far West

Yeah, the guy who made millions from the US Federal government just can’t stand the idea that anyone else wants to make a living from being a Federal civil servant. As a Federal Civil Servant who felt it a privilege to serve and did serve the American people for over 37 years, I find people like Newt Gingrich very

To be fair, the Jeep Cherokee has been using crap seats since the mid-80's. I think they must get them from scrap airplane seats. Or scrap airplane seats that were ruled unfit for even crappy airplane seats.

Now playing

Tsukiji is amazing. Excellent NHK “Begin Japanology” episode on Tsukiji >>
