The only reason to give a player option is if he is willing to play for less money. That’s the tradeoff. There is no incentive for the Packers to do agree to that.

I’m going to have to agree with this, the headline is bad. NFL viewership is not up, it is down. The causes for why it is down, however, not anything the NFL is or isn’t doing. It should read, “Yes NFL viewership is down, but it isn’t the NFL’s fault.”
