It’s worse than medieval. It wasn’t until the late 1800s that taking abortifacients before the “quickening,” when the woman can feel the fetus moving, was purportedly ‘wrong.’ Abortion likely has been a part of human history for as long as pregnancy has been. All the temper tantrums by antichoice nuts won’t change…
Really, this situation is ridiculous. Choice is the law of the land; sneaking into clinics feels like the current version of back alleys. Abortions should be freely performed in every hospital in every state. Why does it feel as though we are condemned to be singled out as slutty sluts and have to traverse a gauntlet.
At 67, she sounds like a pretentious teenager.
People who live in the country. Or who don’t care.
The Gabourey thing pisses me off to no end. That happened to me, a few times, but the first time I noticed was at a Ralph Lauren store when I was 18. No one would pay attention to me b/c I am “ethnic”, had a sundress on w/my hair pulled back and no makeup. The only time they acknowledged me was when I realized WTF was…
I’m pretty sure she means rich person gardening, which is mostly collecting flowers, herbs, and/or vegetables from your garden, documenting it on Instagram, and then handing it all off to the help to make dinner with. (Also documented on Instagram.)

Mr. Gray has been ready to direct this movie for 10 years:
Yep. I can’t remember the relevant title or author right now because it’s been several years, but I read a novel whose heroine was quite specifically and unambiguously described in the text as being plump, brown-haired, brown-skinned, and bespectacled. Cover art: skinny, blonde, fair-skinned white woman with no…
I’m reading An Extraordinary Union right now and it is really excellent. I haven’t read many civil war stories because of the obvious reasons, and it’s a nice change from the usual historical.
And I also think it’s important for non-black or non-Asian or non-whatever the characters are to exist, to get a breadth of different experiences and to see other people.
True.
There are some Civil War stories and there are some interracial stories set during that time period, but they’re often very, um, fetish-y.
The question is if they actually thought it looked like a team president, or if they just wanted to needle Bruce Allen.
Also like, doesn’t the tweet NOT speak for itself in that it brought about all these questions???? Does “speak for itself” have no meaning anymore??? What is words how does language?
Don’t forget criminalizing mental illness too essentially. As someone who has both mental illness and a history of substance abuse, this targets both. Not to mention criminalizing homelessness.
Basically, those “qualities” are narcissism. These are people who are great at superficial charm, which makes for entertaining television, but are absolute nightmares to those who have to be around them when the cameras are off.
Goldie, Wanda and Joan have to make movie together.
