It most definitely wasn't about bandwidth. Adding up every single .torrent that TPB used to host gives you a whopping 90Mb. You really think a website has trouble sharing 90Mb of files?
There are a lot of other factors to take into consideration. Fuel cell's efficiency is way lower than battery power's because it's relatively newer; not as much R&D has been done with fuel cells. Also, batteries degrade over time. Conventional hydrogen engines don't suffer from this.
Just because they had leverage against Apple doesn't mean they had to use it.
You don't think it's questionable that Proview wants money for the iPad name? I understand why they're suing but it's still a trademark that's completely unrelated to them.
Remember that asshole couple that ended up getting a couple million dollars for their farmland when Apple wanted to build their data center? They simply learned from their mistake: if Apple hadn't deceived Proview, Proview would've screwed Apple over and charged millions for the trademark.
I swear that redneck accent commentator is definitely Ricky Bobby.
You're wrong. I don't know of any faster way to download HD movies faster/more conveniently than those I currently know. There are some fast legal ways, sure, but they all fall short somewhere, eventually with a movie you can't find or a release date too far off.
I've been pirating movies, games and music for a good 6-8 years. The only thing that's changed since then is [Suprnova.org] and [Mininova.org] aren't online anymore.
Pirating a movie instead of renting it for $5 carries a huge fine, as well as a risk of jail time or community service. What's your point?
You just made my opening of this article worthy.
The TouchStone works wonders, but it's still not as good (effective) as plugging it in. I think the concept is great but there's a lot of work to be done before it gets pushed out to consumers on a massive scale.
I guess it all just comes down to this.
A couple of my friends from Canada have gotten letters from their ISP (Bell) telling them their P2P traffic will be throttled since they torrented some movie (can't remember which). Hasn't happened with other ISPs yet but it might.
I don't care about the ethical issues of piracy. I also don't care about paying for the things I watch, the games I play and the music I listen to.
It's like leaving a turkey on top of a running oven, hoping it'll cook just as well. Yeah, the heat rising from the elements in the oven will eventually cook it but why don't you just do like everyone else and shove the turkey in there for optimal cooking power?
Inductive charging is quite simply a huge waste of energy and resources. You can either go out of your way and pay extra money for your phone to charge slowly, or you can just plug the thing in and realize why induction charging hasn't caught on yet.
So you think Microsoft worked hard on adapting Keynote's .ppt files flawlessly, or did Apple make sure it just worked when they wrote Keynote?
IMO Keynote has always been the best presentation software there is. It's biggest drawback is that it doesn't always play nice with Powerpoint files but that's pretty much all I can think of. Exporting from Keynote to PP is always a breeze though.
