Ah man, that was my very first touchscreen phone. I couldn’t quite give up the keyboard after having a BB and this was an awesome compromise.

Some friends and I are actually doing beach camping in a few weeks, so this was perfectly timed. I think it’s just Point Mugu so it’s not really remote (or really even roughing it), but I’m definitely going to keep the shelter and cooking tips in mind.

The soundtrack was definitely the best part of that game. The rest of it...ugh. I forced my way through the main quest just so I didn’t feel bad about completely dropping it for Tales of Hearts R. I really wanted to like it, but the battles were just so damn unplayable...

Now playing

Fucking hell dude, I have to use my ears for work and this is going to completely torpedo my productivity for the rest of the day. :-P

I would definitely add the Grandia soundtrack to this list. The main theme is one of my favorites of all time. Not to take away from the rest of the music because it’s all brilliant.

Very proud of this principled stand you made, despite probably knowing that you were going to get 647 “HERE OMG DRINK THIS INSTEAD NOT THAT GMO CORN SYRUP SWILL” recommendations. As someone who generally leans toward craft beer, I nonetheless agree that there is nothing better than a High Life on a hot day.

“[Rich] People up in [SoCal] just suck in general.”

Is probably a more accurate way to get your point across without generalizing. I mean, shit, it’s a good hour at least from Downtown LA to Malibu, and Malibu is its own city.

On the other hand...yeah, I get what you’re saying. See also, the rich people in Rancho Santa

I suddenly found myself using Kimahri a lot more once I got his weapon. Which btw, does not involve building a robot to get, because there’s no way in hell I’m doing this lightning shit.

I love the idea of this, but it seriously has a long way to go. I put in my address and this is what I got. Interesting to me is that the local noise sources they consider are two mini-marts (one that has been closed for six years, and one that is TINY and has nobody in it) and a gas station that is easily four blocks

Don’t you have some chemtrails to spray with vinegar?

I have actually noticed the same thing. Honestly, it might be because it was one of the very first craft beers I tried, and now that I’ve had so many others, it just tastes old. I went through the same thing with Sam and Fat Tire too. And then there is Newcastle; 2006 me drank that shit religiously, while 2015 me

“If my recollection is correct, Tijuana and Cleveland are on the same grid”

Though I don’t doubt that much of the southwest was centrally planned and that much of the Louisiana territory was probably influenced byt the Laws of the Indies, Tijuana and Cleveland don’t even share similar topography to make having the same

The man speaks the truth. It’s a sad fact that anything below 60 or above 80 is now freezing or scalding to me :/

LOL OMG NEVAR HEARD THAT ONE

Are you kidding? I’ve lived here for nine years and I think you just helped ME out.

Salvation Mountain and the Salton Sea are a trip. Also the entire Yucca Valley/Joshua Tree area.

Someone already is in this here comments section!

Yeah, I think that is the difference. Vegas doesn’t just cater to gambling, whereas I don’t think I saw anything to do but gamble in AC. Also it’s only a two hour drive to AC from New York, right? It’s four from LA to get to Vegas and anywhere from five to nine on a Sunday to come back. Considering the lack of

Oh yeah, I absolutely agree with you there. It’s pretty convenient from Santa Barbara to San Diego, but other than that, it is a pain in the ass. I don’t understand why MGM and the other casino owners don’t just steamroll a train to Los Angeles - they would make bank!

As for SF to Vegas...well, there’s a giant mountain

Actually...that train goes to Las Vegas, NM. You can’t currently take a train to Las Vegas, NV. On the other hand, the Bolt Bus from SF only takes 14 hours with a transfer through LA!

I can guarantee you if there ever was a train from LA to Vegas, your 8-9 hour time frame would be more like 3-4, with a cab to Union Station. Meanwhile, you are leaving out the fact that the standard RETURN time from Vegas to LA by car is usually about 5.5 hours, and longer if you were dumb and forgot to get gas and

Ehhh...I dunno. Last time I took it to San Diego from LA, it was standing room only. I can assure you it is generally NOT quicker to drive that route. And honestly, for $40 each way, it’s about comparably priced to Europe.
