I hope Liev hosts SNL again to promote this. That’s probably as much interest as I have.

I was watching a very informal upload Norm did around the early pandemic, from his apartment, where he was talking with Bob, and then Chevy Chase, over the phone. Weird to think now, two years later, just Chevy is here.

Last year, I watched the director’s cut of Texasville. I can see why the movie did not do well, even outside of the theatrical cut - I don’t know how many were clamoring for a sequel as the film had such a specific time and place in cinema history, and that was probably not the right era for the tone of the film

I didn’t really think At Long Last Love was too bad. Miscast, yes, aside from Madeline Kahn, but not as leaden as I had expected. I think there is a certain charm and the performers manage to keep going throughout - a vibe of “are we really doing this?” in both positive and negative ways. Burt Reynolds claimed the

I think they should have tried a few At Home shows, but they seemed to not want to go back there, so I guess it’s this and waiting to see if they shut down again. I don’t know a great deal about DeBose, but I prefer seeing new talent and new hosts over some of the same old same old hosts (although most of the worst

The Olympics will be taking up most of the space in February. If not for that I’d guess they would have taken January off.

Given that they didn’t announce a host after the Christmas show and they haven’t announced the next two hosts (admittedly that may also be based on not knowing if they will be shut down), I tend to think that, buzz and Oscar nomination aside, DeBose is someone they got to host after some other people said no.

A part of me wonders if this was all just a stunt to get press for CNN and Cohen - saying de Blasio sucks isn’t exactly controversial.

Kathy Griffin was never really Anderson Cooper’s friend, just as Andy Cohen isn’t - he’s from that Vanderbilt bubble which means he will be friendly but will also cut ties quickly if he needs to do so. I felt bad for Kathy over all she went through but most of all I felt bad for her because even though she spent 20+

Thanks for sharing the news. Hope people can see it.

I won’t be surprised if that gets a repeat on NBC this or next week.

I never have watched Chicago Fire but I may try sometime knowing David is on there. He was one of my favorite parts of the  original show...I’m glad to see all the backlash to this show’s material for him and his relationship with Miranda.

Happy holidays, everyone.

Anything I read of this show seems like Michael Patrick King and Sarah Jessica Parker, high off their own supply of limited creative talent, have managed to stomp out anything of worth in the original program.

Given how one-dimensional and irrelevant Tyrion felt after the first 4 seasons (due in large part to how much the show whitewashed him in those first 4 seasons), I’m still surprised sometimes at just how much Dinklage’s talent was wasted.

It also makes no real sense within the context of the show itself, which was almost entirely white. Even then, many of the complaints were not about a couple not running off together, unless you count Brienne and Jaime, which is partly the show’s fault for rushing a sexual relationship between them and then ending it

This is the third thinkpiece I’ve seen in a few weeks asking why people aren’t talking about the show (although you are not delving into the tedious “it’s a red state show and that means its viewers are oppressed and shunned by the elite liberals!!!!” wah wah fest, so thanks for that). At one time I would have said

With the exception of one role, I thought the acting on FWTS was uniformly excellent, much better than I had expected compared to some MCU material, and often lifted some spotty writing. So that makes me a bit more interested in where they will go...but tighter writing would be a benefit.

In this case I would say it’s less about the jab at the movie and more how it makes the site that the jab is being written on look.

In terms of online chatter, ITYSL kind of came and went this year compared to the first season. The attempts at finding sketches to make into deathless memes felt forced, as did the show’s attempts at those types of sketches, but those were a minority for me. There were some strange choices in season two, some that
