Wwoohoo, the return of Renix to Jeep engines! At least it’s not a merger with Peugeot, we could end up with the BA10/5 again.
Every time I see that J-Truck I wonder why you haven’t fixed that to use as the ultimate tow/support vehicle for your Moab adventures.
I wanted dual tops, so I had to start with the Sport S. Mine came out to $42, 815. I spec’d a GTI at just under $30k and I doubt even the best M416 out there will be $12k.
Now I have to decide: Jeep Gladiator, or VW GTI and a M416 trailer.
David, haven’t you seen this before? I have seen many videos of this and even saw it in person once.
Did you ever finish getting the J10 fixed? You should take that to Moab. The long wheel base will limit the trails you can do, but at least it is a vehicle worthy of the trip.
Neutral:
If a XJ uni-frame is not bent, cracked, or rusted, anything else can be easily fixed. Engine, transmission, transfercase, axles, suspension, etc are all easy to replace with lots of available options.
Bring a Trailer is turning into Bring a Ton of cash.
Sabine could do a lap in 10 minutes.
Years ago there was a girl wandering around a parking lot asking people for money to get gas to drive home. I offered to help and she gave me a nice smile. Then I pointed to the gas can on my Jeep and asked which car was hers and I got the angry finger.
Along with good range (~300 mi) and fast charging, I will get an electric vehicle when you can get the equivalent of this:
Old people love the A/C, Florida and Arizona won’t be the best places for electric vehicles in the summer.
Jeeps in California don’t rust, they just get a light bar then a “no low-ballers, I know what I got” craigslist post for $2k more then they are worth.
6cyl 3.0 diesel coming in 2019 for JL and JT
I’m a XJ (Cherokee) owner that is tired of having shit (compost, topsoil, fertilizer, trash) inside the back of my Jeep. A Wrangler unlimited would have the same problem. I really want a Jeep Scrambler Gladiator, and yes, I would use it off-road. One of the guys that does our trail cleanups has a MJ (Comanche) and…
That is because you got an estimate to install it for you. Lockers are not that expensive, but setting up gears properly can be, especially if you don’t remove the axle for them first. Find a local guy that does gears and take your axle, lockers and probably $500 max and its done. For all other modifications (lift,…
Still haven’t made up my mind. Jeep Scrambler Gladiator or Volkswagen GTI. My XJ is becoming more and more of a trail only vehicle so I would like something that can do light trails and not be a pain to drive to the trails. A pickup truck bed (even a small one) would be a better place to haul stuff than inside the XJ,…
What about Saab and Hummer? Or were you only counting the brands that they grew themselves after the formation of GM?
