I only ever had 2 XJs at one time, but I am on my 5th now. The wife says no more XJs, so I bought a 1943 GPW.

If Southern California wasn’t so crowded already, I would invite you to move here. I run distilled water in my windshield washer reservoir.

It was a sad day for me back in 2001 when Jeep stopped making the XJ (Cherokee). The unlimited supply of junkyard spare parts had come to an end, and my hoarding disorder began.

Neutral: What Are You Most Excited About From LA?

One of my worst was scrapping the gasket off the block and oil pan of my 1988 Jeep YJ 4.2. That thing was worse than baked on. Regular gasket scrappers and scotch brite pads didn’t work. I tried using a razorblade scraper and sliced open a few fingers. I was able to use a wire wheel on a drill on the pan, but was

I got space in my driveway for one of your Jeeps. No salt, daytime temps may drop to 60 on the coldest winter days, nighttime temps rarely get below 40. You just have to get it to Southern California.

Hertz, Enterprise, Thrifty, Dollar, Alamo, etc...

Every rental car company in a sunny climate will buy tons of these. I remember in Hawaii they had rental TJs, but they disconnected the transfercase linkage to keep the Haoles from getting into trouble off-road. A 2wd Jeep would be perfect there.

Don’t tell David Tracy, he has enough projects, I would love to put one in a Jeep JK (Wrangler). The worst part about the end of the XJ (Cherokee) was that it was the beginning of the end of the AMC/Jeep inline 6 engine. I have heard people say that the I6 was replaced with the V6 for NVH, but it was emissions and

I would rather replace my TDI with this than anything from Hyundai.

My GTI would lift its inside rear wheel under extreme maneuvering, but it never did a stoppie. How much of the drivetrain is in front of the front axle?

Hmmm, so something from VW that gets better “mileage” than the TDI comes out in 4 years and the warranty on the fix (if it ever gets approved) for the TDI is 4 years...

I bought my 2010 TDI so that I could get great mileage with having to become a smug prius driving prick. The original plan was to keep it 10 years and then use it’s awesome resale value (meaning that even after 10 years it will still be worth something) to help me upgrade to something like an Audi S4 or what ever will

I had loose door panels on my 2010 Jetta TDI. I applied lock-tite to all the door panel bolts, apparently mine didn’t have any from the factory in Mexico. The only other problem I have had is the screen going blank on my radio.

I have a 2010 Jetta TDI - a dieselgate car. This is my daily driver. I was hoping to upgrade to a diesel Audi, but now I don’t know what to replace it with. I need something that has 4 doors (kids), is economical and fun to drive, and not a Prius. Budget will be about 35-40k

About 10 years ago I started modifying my Jeep Cherokee (XJ) for serious off-road use. I went on runs with a lot of other XJ owners, and saw how different modifications worked and the compromises made with them. I decided I wanted to build mine up like to be like one of my friends. I even helped him with some repairs
