Yeah, LOL at people talking about the occasionally poor writing quality of this season, as though it’s something that hasn’t been going on for years now. Where were all the complainers at when everyone was salivating over the idiocy that was the Battle of the Bastards? Arya’s terrible Braavos material? For god’s sake,

Hot Take: GOT Season 5 was worse than GOT Season 7. Way worse.

I absolutely loved that part of the evil mastermind’s plan was torn apart because a woman ran out of Cheetos. That’s the perfect kind of display of banal evil.

I do wish we could get a scene between Dern and Watts, but that may not be in the cards.

Thoughts:

In today’s world we need more kindness and decency, and more hearts of gold.

I really like this point. Last year, with The X-Files revival, I realized how much “prestige tv” had moved away from the idea of actual heroes or “good guys” in favor of the prestige anti-hero. I agree that Lynch/Frost are applying a corrective to that, in that they believe that there are some truly really bad

Their deaths were very satisfying and totally unexpected. I was very worried for the Jones family - Hutch and Chantal had shown how efficient and cruel they could be. I expected them to go out violently, but not in such an ironic and seemingly random manner! Mr. C is going to be furious when he finds out how fate

“Agent Cooper is never coming back, it’s going to be Dougie all season, Lynch is a troll”

When Audrey walked into the Roadhouse, I yelled at my TV “Eat that, Internet! It’s not a coma!”

I read Deadspin for sports and io9 for sci-fi semi-regularly and can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that Kinja sucks. All the former Gawker-related sites have been using it for awhile now, yet I still think all the commenters hate it.

Part 8 of the new Twin Peaks single handedly justified the entire season. Lynch given total freedom both creatively and money wise to create a surreal nightmare sequence of hobos and heads being shattered. Old Twin Peaks often felt like it was brushing up against total crazy (most notably with the two red room

Ok this is weird, but I’m open to change...

Wow, was it great!

But Westworld sucks though. Sort of like Kinja.

That’s not really a revamp as much as it’s a sequel continuation series just without a lot of references to Army of Darkness due to rights issues though. Good show nonetheless, it really improved in the second season.
