Its not just one government setting the rules, Scotland,Northern Ireland and wales also have their own separate governments. each also have slightly different rules and have said they could relax the lock down differently

Companies generally cant just fire you though. Laws and procudures  that they have to follow. If a company wanted to fire you due to this Coronavirus they would have to redudant. Thay would mean having to give reduduncy pay. Which probably cost more then paying wages. Legally its hard to be fired only 5 valid reasons

Here in the UK. Anyone who is officially Furloughed gets 80% of their wages paid by the Govenment. You are still paid by your employer abd the govenment rebatez the company the cost of the wages. 

Its nice to know that when this is over i can just go straight back to work. In theory that could make me redundant, but they have to follow a set procedure and cant just say to me that i am no longer required.
