lol. You just said you like the way the panamera looks better then any 911. You have officially beat yourself at this arguement.

Right. Our average outcome is not crazily better then Europe etc especially considering the cost differences. lol

So they’ve convinced everybody that paying full retail for cars is a bonus. Awesome job Tesla. lol

Absolutely nothing claimed makes this “for his safety” or for self defense. It’s assault, plain and simple. All he had to do was bust out his fancy police PATIENCE for about 30 seconds and then step out safely. Yet another officer just doing whatever the hell they please, then being sad they were caught on film doing

I’m going to have to raise the BS flag about that “slower, but not by much” statement. I’d like to see how many bus (train?) lengths the 911 puts on it by 170mph or so from a standing start. That’s just in a straight line too- it does everything else far better as well.

Perhaps because batteries have only slightly higher energy density then a pile of bricks, or perhaps because inverting, charging, discharging, and then inverting again (not to mention transmitting from a coal plant far away) is rife with losses anyways?

Do you guys actually believe that all auto manufacturers are not optimizing their vehicles for the specific conditions tested in the various emissions tests and MPG / CO2 tests, and reporting the furthest stretch of the truth as possible?

Ford already went through a whole ordeal about overstating MPG’s (and thus,

Gee, now how could this car, which pulls over 1G of cornering, and has steamrollers for tires- manage to loose traction... Oh wait, because they were hooning it. Either that, or some of that pesky socal black ice.

It is the least entertaining way to get from point A to point B I’ve ever experienced in my life. A cargo van is more fun.

This could be as simple as mapping the exact (known) load cells for maximum clean emissions, and the rest for power. I’m not sure how much of a scandal that is, as opposed to the equivalent of studying for an exam where you know the questions before hand. Perhaps the EPA should consider making their test a little less

Nah. Even in design it has no place. I’ve seen engineers spec ridiculous stuff just because it’s cost plus and they want to play with it. I mean circuit boards that should have been 50 dollars getting run up, literally, into the thousands at the design stage.

The B8 A4 / S4 is a monster too. As large as an early ‘00’s / late 90’s A8.

Also if I park my 996tt next to a MK7 GTI the door sill of the MK7 is 3/4 of the way up my window glass. It’s like I parked next to a mini van.

It’s jarring. With the factory 19’s on my golf r it crashed over the smallest manhole cover etc hit with the corner that had them in.

Between the guys here at the shop, we have MK1, MK2, MK3, MK4, MK5, MK6, and MK7 gti’s. You made the right choice with the MK7. It’s a quantum leap.

I have both a MK 7 Golf R and a MK7 GTI. The golf R is obviously nicer, inside and out. It’s definitely faster. Is it “more fun” on my 3 mile city commute? Not really. To an extent, the AWD, and the complete lack of any torque steer or wheel spin, sorta makes accelerating just a thing you do. The chipped regular GTI

Base model VW’s have a special place in hell. It’s almost questionable even building them because of all the damage they do to the brand name- the GTI’s / GLI’s / Golf R’s / etc have very little to do with the shit box rental cars :(

The b8 is like driving a party barge compared to a gti.

Lol from my MK7 Golf R. These were on the front right damper ONLY. Made for some interesting side to side pitching action ;)

Here’s the thing: Bolting on a cold air intake or an exhaust system gain ~next to zero horsepower without recalibrating the ECU on modern cars. The entire operating system of the ECU is written to deliver the same power day in and day out... They shoot for specific amounts of cylinder filling- so “opening it up”

To a large extent, being unable to modify code in OE control units does in fact ban all performance upgrades on modern cars. This is more and more the case. So despite them claiming that they have some level of understanding with the aftermarket- that must just mean the wheel and tire guys lol.
