If you just look at the map you posted, you’ll see that there is another route (9) just a few miles north, that connects the two areas. This route (10) is panoramic and surrounded by houses/hotels. The reason for a slow speed bridge is to prevent traffic from route 9 to be diverted to 10m and keep things the way are

I like it. I think it’s cool and I’m glad it exists.

This is the circle-shaped Laguna Garzón bridge in Uruguay, and it is dumb. It was built for dumb reasons, too. They make sense, but are also dumb.
