I’m not conflating. What the company wants to be is not a thing that their potential customers want to buy. And if that is the case then they wont be a company for long. To your point about Samsung there are already other “like iPhone but Android” players out there that have been in the game for well over a decade.
Perhaps it’s poorly thought out because it was always announced as a test. It was never, ever advertised as something that was going to be heavily enforced. I don’t know, but it seems like the media picked this story up and turned it into more than it ended up being. Looks like the test is, thankfully, failing.
