I agree that her friends will feel guilty about this and they will carry that guilt for a long time. If that guilt means that next time they will go out of their way to help someone in need, whether they know the person or not, then maybe this girl’s death isn’t in vain.

Um her friends realized she was missing and called her mother. It doesn’t say how long that took but to assume she had bad friends who weren’t looking out for her is a bit much. They also thought she caught a ride. So maybe she gave them the impression that she waiting for one and when she was no longer in the house…

I agree. Also, it’s safe to assume that her friends were also highly intoxicated and probably not thinking quite as clearly as hindsight commenters on the internet.

Look, I’m not saying I wouldn’t hunt down a friend in a similar situation. Of course I would and I have on many, many occasions. I was the official babysitter for years because I’m not a big drinker. I’m just not OK with placing any blame on them. They are also young and dumb but they are not responsible for her death.

I get it. Pregnancy sucks, I’ve been there. I just don’t get why people get all pissy about that term. Who cares what they call your pregnancy if you’re getting the right care? Are they supposed to lie to you and tell you that your pregnancy is not different than the norm in order to spare your feelings?

Reading this thread makes me actually want to weep - how fucking hard is it to read a little bit about your own pregnancy so you can stop assuming everyone is out to offend you with their terminology? The only people I feel bad for here are the doctors.
