This is about opportunity cost. A cheesy Zelda movie by Illumination means we never get a smart charater-driven Zelda movie by, say, Dreamworks (How to Train Your Dragon, She-Ra reboot), or a creepy OoT/MM inspired Zelda more in the style of Castlevania.

It’s much more likely that The Pokemon Company is lying to cover their ass after screwing up the entire competitive season in Korea. This ban is about the players having the audacity to protest the screwed up season.
