In the synopsis for the first book, it implies everyone will put their differences aside and fight the threat…that never happened until now, 25 years later or so. So, yeah, we're a little excited - it's happening. What we were sold on to begin with.

This episode makes all other plots irrelevant. If this army of dead makes it way south, Mereen doesn't matter, Cersei and the Sparrows don't matter…etc. I feel that the White Walker situation is going to cause an us vs them situation. It will be the dark impetus that brings all the stupid bickering factions together.…
