It was wrenching experience, he got sick when he was 7 and died at 13. It was a very long six years. But I feel honored to have been able to be present and witness the grace and strength of people. I completely agree with you. Mr. Downing watches this show and every time he has it on I have to go in another room. There's an undercurrent of such twisted anger, makes me feel like I need a shower. If you're going to go 'there' you gotta have the funny to back it up.
