The issue is having the damned list in the first place. The point at which you're making a list is the point at which you have ceased to look for a mate and started to look for an apartment.

I love that this show is old home week for sci-fi tv (Doctor Who most especially). It makes me stupid happy to see Dresden, Captain Jack, Dr. Moon, and now River Song! And Moira has been in TNG, DS9, and Voyager. I squeal at the television every time another old favorite shows up.

Preach. My couch is the most disgusting thing on the planet.

Only when no longer dating them ...

Ludo! That's fantastic, thank you for sharing that tidbit.

Oh god yes. There is absolutely something there.

I think when there is a lack of gender balance drama goes up significantly. Both genders, socially constructed or no, have some rather unpleasant behaviors at the extremes of their spectrums. When only one gender is present it's easy for those extremes to become prevalent.

I totally see your point. I'm a great big history nerd, so it would be worth it to me as an experience. I'd just have to take a proper vacation rather soon afterwards, as I don't imagine it would be the most ... relaxing trip.

Ach, you got a bed, blanket, and pillow (though gotta bring your own sheets), access to running water, three meals a day. It's better than most hostels! I'd take it if I got to be on a Titanic replica.

Third class wasn't actually that bad on Titanic. I'd stay there if it meant I could snag a ticket for this. What, I like history.

The new comment system resulted in Gawker and Jezebel being overrun with idiots almost immediately, io9 took a bit longer but it seems that they've found us. I really miss the stars.

This is perfection.

I know spouse and I will be taking a look.

Just last night I was telling my spouse that I really hope they set it far enough in the future that we have the original cast playing their current ages (50s to 60s) as the old guard, passing the torch to their children. We would get a new crop of characters with no baggage (setting aside the novels) and no

What I took from it was that the astronaut and the officer were working together, they both knew the astronaut would be killed for knowing what he knows and not being trusted to keep his mouth shut. The officer was pretending to be on the side of the 'New World Order' and was going to use images the astronaut smuggled

It certainly wasn't my attention to indicate I thought Glenn had it easy. I don't perceive it as a contest. What bothered me was that when they addressed Maggie's assault they did so from a purely male perspective. It just underlines how deeply this show has no real understanding of women as whole people. Now, they've

* blush * Well thank you!

I hope that you're right (though not about there being more to the story.) I just hope when she talks it's to a woman. Or Glenn and a woman. If they keep it to just her daddy and her man I'll eat my hat.

I know it's well established that TWD is _awful_ at portraying women as anything other than a foil for men, but it felt particularly frustrating this week. The fall-out from Maggie's assault? Mostly centered around Glenn's understandable feelings of helpless rage and anguish. Would it have killed them to show Maggie

You are incredibly lucky that you have never had to put food before pride.
