Especially when it’s just general complaining about something that’s not immediately urgent, affecting you personally or both.  When I’m on the phone with any customer service rep and getting the run around I feel my anger is justified (looking at you United Airlines).  Why get snippy in an internet forum?

Why can’t people be polite to each others? These people are doing their best, giving them snide comments won’t make their work any better, it might infact make it worse.

My work has comprehensive audio and visual surveillance as soon as I pull into the lot, and I also have keystroke monitoring on my work computer (which is a desktop so there’s zero reason for me to form feelings of attachment or ownership over it). I don’t think I’ve EVER worked without cameras being on me.

I work for a state government, and basically, you have to keep in mind that anything you say in an email might one day be on the front page of the news. It’s common sense, which obviously is lacking in this administration. FOIA requests will supersede your NDAs dummies.

You realize that while both the original article and your statement involve the words “work” and “privacy” they have few other points of commonality, right?
