I actually really enjoyed the tight over the skate look by Alina because it made me think she looked like bambi.

To be fair, the commentators seemed surprised, too, and they are in the know! I think it was an unexpected great skate because she hadn’t skated it cleanly all season.

Did you see the promo ad that Lipinski narrated, that included a bunch of shots of her and Kwan at Nagano while Lipinski droned on about “great rivals”? It made me SO MAD!

I’m SO bummed out that they showed hardly any figure skating on TV in my country; just a half minute here and there. I love to watch it, and always get oddly sentimental about it. Maybe because I used to watch it with my mother, one of the few happy moments in my miserable childhood.

Karen Chen is amazing but she will NOT dominate the 2022 Olympics, I am sad to say. No American will. The Russians who are too young to qualify for 2018 are already landing quads. The future of skating belongs to the youth.
