I don't think you can make a case for a better OBD2 engine. Even if something does go wrong with it, parts for it are inexpensive and can be acquired from any retail auto parts store in the country
Fix those heater bypass elbows and the inevitable intake gasket and you've got possibly the most reliable American engine of the OBD2 era.
