A fight is a contest that you have a shot at winning. This is not a fight. It’s a pointless exercise in political theater to make some immature people feel better about “taking a stand” when in reality the outcome is already set.

Sounds more like Dallas. Maybe Houston but probably Dallas.

It is absolutely ridiculous that Taylor freaking Swift could have any impact on anything as important. Corporations and the wealthy and whatever other boogymen are popular around these parts don’t actually run anything. They’re just good at convincing all the lemmings to jump in concert.

White woman uses PoC to gain power and privilege along with other stories you’ve heard a billion times at eleven!!!

“I’m unsure if payday loans are as a whole worth keeping around but the fact of the matter is getting rid of them without changing the system that justifies their existence is just going to make things even worse for a lot of people.”

“Normal banks don’t give out 14-30 day loans as a matter of course”

As far as electrical generation is concerned people aren’t really building new coal fired plants and existing ones are being shut down. The numbers already don’t make sense. Natural gas is considerably cleaner, has stolen coal’s lunch, and renewables are becoming increasingly cost effective.

I saw a special on the CBC about check cashing services recently and it comes to mind here. The people in the special basically said they choose those options (choose being the operative word there) because they’re up front about pricing.

White women are still white womening so I’m not sure how this November is supposed to be different from November 2016 from a women’s vote perspective.

People on the left will argue that free college is a good thing because it helps poor people get educated when in reality poor people’s primary and secondary education situations are so screwed up that the price of college is hardly a factor. Free college’s primary beneficiaries are middle and upper middle class

California, Texas, and New York account for nearly a third of the US’ total GDP. Those states wouldn’t be going anywhere with anyone else. They don’t need to.

Politics is a zero sum game of power.

The Senate didn’t abandon or ignore women. The Senate paid attention to the only women it has ever cared about. White women.

To what end?

Accountability is not part of the Splinter (read: white progressive) dictionary.

Businesses exist for the benefit of their owners. Any other idea about how that arrangement works is naive foolishness. Controlling costs is the natural order of things for a business.

Income inequality has grown because there’s a massive gap between skilled and unskilled workers. It isn’t fundamentally about your wage stagnation or stock buybacks or “sharing the wealth”.

I know.

“Wealthier”

What America truly is?
