I am very annoyed that he is choosing not to run for Senate. He’s a great Democrat for Texas; his lack of concrete ideas is exactly how a Democrat can win in a red state. But for the national Democratic Party he is not experienced enough nor policy-driven enough to be a serious contender for the Presidency.

I’ll put my oar in: I heard earlier this week that Stacey Abrams is thinking about getting into the race. So, I have updated my favorite ticket, Warren/Castro to the following: Any Progressive/Abrams.

I wish he would’ve at least taken another shot at Senate. Cornyn is up in TX in 2020 (he’s less polarizing than Cruz with both lower approval and disapproval rates so I’m not sure if that bodes better or worse). Same with Abrams who might have a better shot against Purdue in GA in 2020. I don’t have a magic standard…
