Oh, FFS people. Do we need to break this down into bite-sized pieces?
Oh, FFS people. Do we need to break this down into bite-sized pieces?
Women like Janet Mock are killed by people who believe the ignorance Piers Morgan refuses to acknowledge in himself. But yeah, controversy machine, sure.
What I don't get is why it's so hard for reporters to understand asking about someone's genitals is rude. Full stop. Yes, the public is curious about it, but the public is curious about dozens of things Katie Couric or Piers Morgan would never stoop to ask.
I am really disappointed when ANY adult, much less an adult with the privilege of a public platform, acts like a fucking child. Way to chuck all your toys out of the pram, Piers, you're a real inspiration.
Omg, did he ask about me? I'm supposed to marry him!
There is more to this story. Charda woke up disoriented in a hotel room, and called the police because she thought she had been drugged and raped. Instead of taking her to a hospital for a blood test and rape exam, the police arrested her for trashing the room, and then this occurred. I hope she ends up owning the…
It's clearly Bramance.
My college friend and I thought we were pretty creative with "homance"
I feel bad that she has no one in her life willing to tell her she might be brick-stupid.
Yes, because that is how we set the standard for star worship: anyone who can do anything even marginally better than me can not be criticized ever. What stupidity is this?
The letter she wrote to Michelle Obama? It read like an eighth grader's work, and she seemed so proud of it...it actually made me feel bad.
Yeah, Beyonce is super simple. Watching interviews with her is painful. in a way i understand, since she became famous so young and began working so much, she had no time to cultivate a personality. Or read a book. But I definitely get a manufactured vibe from her.
Nailed it. She has no discernable personality beyond meticulously staged Instagram pics and heavily coreogrqaphed stage performences. Hate to say it, but—apart from her physical beauty—anyone could be Beyonce, with the right handlers.
someone immensely popular whose appeal I simply don't get?
Yeah, I'm not going to "bow down" to someone simply because they're a "megastar". That makes absolutely no sense, and I don't why someone who is a "megastar" deserves our undying adoration. Worshipping celebrities like they're deities will surely lead to a great society.
Beyonce's on a timeout right now. Her whole new album is a disappointment. She fit Chimamanda Adichie on the same album where her hubby sings crap like: "Baby no I don't play, now eat the cake, Anna Mae." All the while she is busy getting whitewashed.
ah. so anyone successful is, by defination, wonderful?
I also said this down-thread, but I would like to know why Jez has not addressed the fuckery that is Drunk in Love. It is a disgusting song - where is the anger? Why are we not discussing this?
Her Superbowl performance was BS. Yes, she sang live, but she would only sing a line, and then dance around for a full verse or chorus. I think her biggest crime was bringing Michelle and Kelly out, and only having them sing a snippet of one song (not to mention Michelle's mic seemed to be turned all the way down).
It is horrible. disgusting.
