Hmm... I’ve torn down a few BMWs, the check engine light is almost always an emissions item... Like an o2 sensor. So I am a tad doubtful that was flagging any mechanical issues. Plus the article leaves out the make and model of BMW. At $4500, this sounds like a 90s era car with some serious miles.
